Save money at the grocery store

It has been almost a YEAR since I posted my first blog, WOW! So much has happened and changed but it has been a wonderful year.
Gas prices are crazy high, Grocery prices are rising and I have learned how to be thriftier so that my family does not have to suffer through the rising prices in this economy.
If you do not shop at Meijer than I highly recommend that you should. I save so much money at that store on groceries and household needs, it really is quite amazing. They double coupons up to .99 and more often than not when you checkout they print you a $5.00 off $25 purchase. If you seperate your orders (like I do) than you can use your $5.00 coupon for the first order, have another printed off when you checkout your first order and use the one that is printed out for your next order. Not only that but they print some amazing in store coupons that go along with their sales.
For example, They had General Mills Cereal on sale for $1.88 a box and Gushers and Fruit Roll Ups on sale for $1.80 a box (can you tell by my groceries that I am a mom?) so I had two boxes of cereal and two boxes of fruit snacks. I also had a .55 cent off coupon for two boxes of fruit snacks that was doubled to $1.10 off and a coupon for the cereal for $1.50 off. When I did my first order to use my $5.00 coupon, I did NOT include my cereal and fruit snacks in the first order. When it printed my second $5.00 off coupon is also printed me off a coupon for $3.50 any 4 items from General Mills or Betty Crocker. So the cereal and fruit snacks were going to cost me $7.36 before coupons, after a $1.10 coupon, a $1.50 coupon and a $3.50 coupon they only cost me $1.26. Thats right, I paid $1.26 for two boxes of cereal and two boxes of fruit snacks!
I love showing off my receipts from Meijer after grocery shopping :)
