Single mommy and loving it.

Being a single mom is not as bad as some people claim it is. I get to spend so much more time with my daughter and do not really care if I have a significant other. I actually prefer to focus on raising Akira rather than focusing on the title "single mom".
What do you guys think about single moms? Do you think that they should spend more time looking for a significant other who can end their "single mom" status or do you think they should be happy to concentrate on raising their babies?
I personally think it is their choice. I am not the type to go trolling the bars looking for a husband, lol. When I meet someone, I will meet them but until then, I am perfectly happy with my life the way it is. The life of a single mommy :)

Well, I'm a single momma, but my son just turned 5 months. I haven't been into it all that long obviously, but I did go through most of my pregnancy alone though. It was a complicated and heart-breaking situation as we were engaged, so I would be lying if I said I was over it (even if I want to be!) I definately want to find a "Dad" for my baby someday, but I agree with you.. I'm not just going to go out looking for it. If I do that, it will probably just end up being the wrong person and I think the LAST thing a single mom should do (if they want to do things right) is rush into anything. I do love my alone time with my baby and I believe that in these short 5 months we already have a very special bond, different from those relationships where the child has both parents. But anyways, as you also said, I am focusing on raising him the best I possibly can so he can grow up to be a smart and respectable person. I could probably talk/write forever on this and similar subjects, but I'll leave it at that!

I agree with you! The bond a mother has with her baby is unbreakable and so precious! Good Luck in raising him, I am sure that he is going to grow up to be a wonderful individual! Feel free to post on here ANYTIME! I know how it feel to finally vent some frustrations, lol.
I also have a mommies group if you would like to join that and it is called

Just started reading your blog and I'm loving it so far =) You seem like a very determined single mom, it's great to see others out there doing what we can to raise happy healthy kiddos instead of just rolling over dead because we are doing it alone. I absolutely LOVE being a single mom, it's far more easier than dealing with most men haha!
